Game Can Enhance Child Imagination

Enhancing Child Imagination With Playing Games
LONDON - A new study from the University of Michigan shows, games or can actually increase a child's imagination is much higher.

New research aims to measure the level of creativity of children in assessing the effects of gaming associated with child development.

The study involved 500 children aged 12 years. The results found by researchers shows the more often children playing video games, then the level of their creativity in doing tasks, such as drawing and writing stories would be far better than those who rarely play video games.

Development of the creativity of children is not completely influenced by yag games played, but influenced by the use of technology has to offer into the phone, Internet or computer. Similarly, as quoted by the Daily Mail, Sunday (06/11/2011).

Linda Jackson as the lead researcher said the study became the first evidence to establish the relationship between the use of technology and creativity. In the future these results may be a game designer motivation in making a video game that has a creative effect.

"After the kids managed to do it, video game developers are expected to play a more optimal design in the development of creativity, but still maintain the entertainment value. Perhaps the latest generation of video games can disguise the difference between education and entertainment," lid Jackson.

NASA Discover Great Cracks in Antarctic Glacier

Glacier's Great Crack
WASHINGTON - NASA's space agency found a large crack in a glacier in Antarctica. These cracks are found in NASA's mission Operation Ice Bridge which is the largest aerial surveys to monitor the Earth's polar ice caps.

Cracks occurred in the Pine Island glacier in 2001 is still a mountain of ice. Some scientists predict will happen again in the cracks there, but that estimate has not happened.

Since then the discovery, NASA conducted a study in more detail on the results of satellite imagery has been obtained.

NASA is targeting mission lasted for 6 years and produce three-dimensional image of the ice surface, ice sheets and sea ice in the Arctic and Antarctic.

"Actually, we are currently witnessing how this could happen, this is something very interesting," said Michael Studdinger, a scientist member of the Ice Bridge Project.

"This part of the natural process, but being here and witnessing the occurrence of cracks is an exciting thing," he added. As preached by Fox News, Friday (04/11/2011).

Smokers Have High-Risk to Become Cocaine Addict

Smokers
CALIFORNIA - The scientists are from Columbia University claiming smoking is a cause of the beginning of high-risk drugs and become addicts.

They say cigarettes and alcohol is a "gate" that leads a person to use marijuana, cocaine, ecstasy and other illicit drugs. Similarly, as quoted by TG Daily, Sunday (11/06/2011).

An article on "Science Translational Medicine" written by Amir Levine, Denise Kandel, Eric Kandel, and other colleagues at Columbia University Medical Center provides a molecular explanation of the order of "gate" a person who ultimately use the drug.

They claim to have tested their findings in laboratory mice (which has a structure similar to human nerve). The scientists said nicotine is the cause of changes in the brain so helpless when fighting cocaine addiction.

Levels of nicotine and cocaine use were analyzed to determine an initial treatment regime dramatically nicotine response to changes in consumption behaviors associated with cocaine addiction.

Based on the results of research inspired by the new analysis and human epidemiological data shows, cocaine users are generally begins after they smoked and this makes them become high-risk addicts.

"This study raises interesting questions that can now be explored further in animal models," said Danise Kandel, one of the authors.

"The question involves whether alcohol and marijuana can create the stimulation in the brain or into the sequence of 'gateway' drug use, like nicotine? Then, if each sequence using a different mechanism?," He continued.

Please be aware of epidemiological studies and data do not prove causation. Both are just proving the existence of relation to one another.

That is, this study shows cocaine dependence can be attributed to nicotine, but the use of nicotine has not been proven with certainty whether it can make people addicted to cocaine.

"The results of this research aims to create effective prevention programs for public health against the dangers of nicotine, especially for adolescents," concluded the researchers.

Squirrel Sword Tooth Fossil Found in Argentina

Unknown
BUENOS AIRES - A researcher has managed to find fossils of small toothed animal that has never known before.

This discovery opens up access to instructions on how 93 million years ago, the small mammals live among the dinosaurs.

Mammals that have a name Cronopio dentiacutus have teeth very long, narrow snout and large eye sockets. This indicates the possibility of physical appearance sabertooth squirrel is active during the night for survival among carnivores, carnivorous giant Cretaceous period.

The fossils were found in Patagonia, Rio Negro, Argentina, in a deposition that also contain some type of dinosaur bones in larger sizes. It is quoted from Mercurynews, Friday (11/04/2011).

The discovery of the skull and jaw is partially bridged the gap as far as 60 million years for the fossil record of mammals.
