Squirrel Sword Tooth Fossil Found in Argentina

BUENOS AIRES - A researcher has managed to find fossils of small toothed animal that has never known before.

This discovery opens up access to instructions on how 93 million years ago, the small mammals live among the dinosaurs.

Mammals that have a name Cronopio dentiacutus have teeth very long, narrow snout and large eye sockets. This indicates the possibility of physical appearance sabertooth squirrel is active during the night for survival among carnivores, carnivorous giant Cretaceous period.

The fossils were found in Patagonia, Rio Negro, Argentina, in a deposition that also contain some type of dinosaur bones in larger sizes. It is quoted from Mercurynews, Friday (11/04/2011).

The discovery of the skull and jaw is partially bridged the gap as far as 60 million years for the fossil record of mammals.
