Looking For Alien With City Light

Look For Alien by City Light
Massachusetts - How do I find the city on a distant planet? For the sake of finding life on other planets, astronomers have been hunting down a radio signal to a super-short laser wave.

Avi Loeb of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics and Edwin Turner of Princeton University, suggests a new way to find an alien that is by way of 'looking for' the lights of their cities.

"Finding the alien city of residence is very risky, but does not require additional resources. If successful, this will change the way we view the world," Loeb said, as quoted by Machinelikeus, Friday (11/04/2011).

Like SETI another method, this method relies on the assumption that the aliens are using technology similar to Earth. This is natural because every rational creature that evolved in the light of nearby stars tend to have artificial light that illuminates when the dark (night).

Loeb and Turner take into account the capabilities of today's best telescopes should be used to see the light generated in the Tokyo metropolis-sized distance of the Kuiper Belt (the region occupied by Pluto, Eris, and thousands of smaller ice stars).

While searching in this way, astronomers were able to hone technique and be prepared to apply at some Earth-sized planets found among the stars of our galaxy.

"It is impossible to find the existence of aliens at the end of our solar system, but the principle of science is to find a method to make sure," said Turner.
