CALIFORNIA - Despite Motorola Mobility has been acquired by Google, but the internet giant said it would not take an active role in the hardware business.
Google seems a bit lucky after getting one hardware vendor of mobile industry leaders. However, the potential that exists on the Motorola is not fully utilized by Google.
This is indeed a bit surprising, but the internet giant said the acquisition of Motorola's just solely for the protection of patent rights and not others.
In an interview at the conference held Allthingsd.com, Android chief Andy Rubin to answer the mystery of why Google bought the hardware manufacturer.
"I do not understand why you claim against Motorola's acquisition of Google, because Google wants to enter the hardware business. It will be something long term, Motorola will not get special treatment from Google," he explained, as quoted by TG Daily, Thursday (20/10 / 2011).
Of course, this is done in order to convince Google's other mobile phone manufacturers do not make significant changes to Motorola. Today there are many vendors who produce millions of productive Android phone.
With the acquisition of Motorola, Google actually has a power that can later be used to produce Android handsets sophisticated and different from other platforms.
So this is a strategic decision taken by Google for not entering the hardware business. Google is well aware of the competition which has a lot of other companies to support the development of Android to be a competitor of IOS.
