Humans & Chimpanzees Genetically is Different

Human Chimpanzees Differents
CALIFORNIA - Since the first scientists to believe that between humans and chimpanzees have the same genetic DNA, but this is disputed by some scientists.

Researchers from the Georgia Institute of Technology said the fundamental difference that occurs because of the insertion and removal of large pieces of DNA near the gene.

Although the DNA sequence of the human and chimpanzee genes are similar, but there are 'gaps' in the area of genetic genes that can affect how much of these genes can be 'functioning' and 'not working'.

A recent research showed the main cause of genetic gaps due to insertion or deletion by viral (caused by bacteria virus) with a series called retrotransposons that includes half of the genetic differences between the two species.

"The main cause of genetic disparities because of the same retrovirus activity with a series of elements of the exchange," says Biology professor, John McDonald, told TG Daily, Thursday (27/10/2011).

"The element of exchange had previously been regarded as 'Junk DNA' which is only slightly or not have any function. But now the elements are a major reason why we differ from chimps," he continued.

The research team has observed the gap ginetik in both species and found significant differences in gene formation.

"Our findings are generally consistent with the idea that morphological and behavioral differences between humans and simpanses very prominent, revealing more of the gene regulation than differences both gene sequence itself," he concluded.
