Insomnia Trigger Heart Attack Risk

WASHINGTON - A recent study revealed that insomnia are at risk of heart attack trigger. This discovery adds to growing list ofadverse effects of the disease 'sleepless nights' this.

As quoted by AFP on Wednesday (10/26/2011), a study conducted by Norwegian scientists, shows that people who suffer from insomnia at risk 27 to 45 percent of heart attack.

"Difficulty sleeping is extremely common and easy to handle," says Lars Erik Laugsand, head of research from the NorwegianUniversity of Science and Technology Department of PublicHealth in Trondheim, Norway.

"So it is important that people pay attention to the relationshipbetween insomnia with heart attack, if they have symptoms," added Laugsand.

The study took data from 52,610 adults in Norway, who answeredtheir country's national survey, in 1995 and 1997, about thesymptoms of insomnia.

While the American Heart Association says that approximately a third of the world's people have trouble sleeping and need thehelp of a doctor.
